I AM the mother of six children and multiple grandchildren, and through the Lord, I consider them my greatest accomplishment. I have had the honor to serve the citizens of Upton as their police chief for just over five years. I have been a patrol officer for 16 years of my career.
I have had the great fortune of working side by side with members of the community. During my career, I have served as an investigator, patrol officer, dispatcher, school resource officer and as a DEA operative. I’ve also worked on special assignments through inter agency task force.
I have also enjoyed many, many years volunteering in my community, with groups like Cowboys for Christ, as well as 4H, FFA, Upton Gun Club, and the Bridger Valley food pantry. I’ve been a church youth group leader, 4H leader, fair superintendent, member of the Weston County Fair Board, and board member of the Fort Bridger Rendezvous Association the second largest event in Wyoming on state grounds. I’ve also worked with the 21 Wellness Coalition and Wyoming Coalition Against Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault.
I believe that we receive fun, education, experience and personal growth when we give our time to benefit others. I have many great mentors, and they have shaped my life.
In my 19 total years of law enforcement experience, I have had the honor of participating in the following:
Constitutionally-based policing
Wyoming Association of Sheriff and Chiefs of Police (WASCOP)
Wyoming Coalition Against Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault (WCADVSA)
Northern Wyoming Mental Health Committee, as a community member
Group to update mental health state statutes
21 Wellness Coalition – Weston County, education for substance abuse/suicide prevention for all ages
Weston County Peace Officers Association
Wyoming Peace Officers Association
Working to change state statute to assist in the prosecution of stalking crimes
Providing community members with general gun safety, personal safety and other community education programs
