INVOLVED IN COMMUNITY

Susan Bridge was a prominent female Chief of Police for the town of Upton in Weston County, Wyoming, serving for many years. She is a very significant pioneer, noted for her deep community involvement and leadership at a major town's police force in Weston County. Her long service and high profile in Upton mark her as a leading figure and likely one of the first, if not the first, woman to hold such a command role in Weston County history.

COMING UP: A forum featuring Weston County Sheriff candidates is scheduled for July 21.

I AM the mother of six children and multiple grandchildren, and through the Lord, I consider them my greatest accomplishment. I have had the honor to serve the citizens of Upton as their police chief for just over five years. I have been a patrol officer for 16 years of my career.

I have had the great fortune of working side by side with members of the community. During my career, I have served as an investigator, patrol officer, dispatcher, school resource officer and as a DEA operative. I’ve also worked on special assignments through inter agency task force.

I have also enjoyed many, many years volunteering in my community, with groups like Cowboys for Christ, as well as 4H, FFA, Upton Gun Club, and the Bridger Valley food pantry. I’ve been a church youth group leader, 4H leader, fair superintendent, member of the Weston County Fair Board, and board member of the Fort Bridger Rendezvous Association the second largest event in Wyoming on state grounds. I’ve also worked with the 21 Wellness Coalition and Wyoming Coalition Against Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault.

I believe that we receive fun, education, experience and personal growth when we give our time to benefit others. I have many great mentors, and they have shaped my life.
